So if you play flute, tuba, trombone, French horn, euphonium or trumpet, fancy playing in a friendly community band and can spare Wednesday evenings to rehearse, why not come along and give us a try?
However, players of all instruments are welcome to come along and try us out.
With a dynamic conductor and an ever-increasing number of members, Barnet Band is a very exciting place to be right now. Rehearsals are exhilarating and challenging, but also social occasions. No rehearsal is complete without its tea break.
Barnet Band’s conductor is Ian Brookman. As well as thoughtful musical direction, he brings enormous energy to the Band, and endless good humour and patience.
A busy summer programme of concerts includes appearances at Finchley Nurseries in Mill Hill, Barnet Museum and Alexandra Palace park.
One of the highlights of the year is the Band’s ‘social’ evening when musical entertainment is provided by the band members themselves, playing in small ensembles.
If you’re interested in joining us you’re welcome to come along and try us out for a few weeks. There’s no audition and we don’t ask for grades.
